We are so pleased to share the detailed overview of the activity at our Portside Place site.
Over the course of the last few weeks, real-world progress can start to be seen beyond the design stage.
If you speak to our planning teams and technical specialists; every detail has been paintstakingly obsessed over - ensuring every aspect of the development aligns with the high standards and ambitions we’ve set out to achieve.
Taking the IPG’s sustainability-first approach in its stride, our trusted partner: Melbrooke Construction intends to start as it means to go on, with even the smallest details of the location’s geography influencing the makeup of the building and execution.
We can see this in the recycled cobbles that are being collected during the site levelling. The large sandstone walls which are set to be brought down during the latter phases of the groundworks stage will also be reused as an homage to the site’s idyllic backdrop, maintaining a true sense of heritage to its design.
We’re also excited to share that the Section 50 works are well-underway as of the start of this week; allowing easier access for supply vehicles, machinery and personel to the site.
This can be seen as a ramped entrance into the road-facing side of the site. The reduced-level dig (RLD) has now also been completed to prep the site for a suitable structural base.
This all-important stage will create a stable foundation for the piling and ground slab implementation; ready for the groundworks approach to take place over the course of the next few months.
While these initial phases may seem insignificant at first glance, they are critical to the long-term success of any high-quality development.
The choices being made now form the foundation for the homes and spaces we’ll bring to life in the future.
We continue to progress in line with our programme and are greatly encouraged by the growing momentum across both on-site activity and behind-the-scenes planning.
